The Pension Lawyers Association/IPEBLA 2020 Conference will be held from Thursday 19th March – Friday 20th March 2020 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. 

The 2020 conference will include not only papers and workshops on the current South African pension law issues and additionally have papers and workshops involving, through IPEBLA, eminent pension lawyers from around the world.  This will be a special conference in the history of the PLA, as delegates will receive the benefit of the typical annual PLA conference with the addition of inputs from expert international pension lawyers. This will be a unique occasion and the plenary sessions and multiple workshops will focus on both local and international pension law developments.

This conference will examine issues facing our industry not only in South Africa but worldwide and expert speakers will provide you with technical and practical analysis and discussions on topical legal issues affecting the financial services and retirement funds industry. In addition, we will bring you up to date on relevant judgments and decisions from the courts, the Adjudicator and the regulators.

Delegates will have many opportunities to network and connect with the local and IPEBLA speakers and delegates both at the conference itself as well as at the cocktail party on Wednesday 18th March 2020 and gala dinner on Thursday 19th March 2020 at elegant venues in Cape Town.

All pension lawyers, attorneys, advocates, retirement fund boards of management, fund officers, consultants, actuaries, administrators and other interested persons are invited to attend this professional conference.

Cost:

We intend to keep the cost of the conference reasonable and will communicate the fee over the next few months. The fee will cover attendance at the conference, the cocktail party and the gala dinner. The PLA is a non-profit organisation and does not currently rely on sponsorship to subsidise the costs of its conferences. Tours of popular Cape Town sights will be arranged and these will be need to be booked and charged separately.
